Home Organization

Our house is small, like 1400 sq. ft. small.  For our first home, we love it!  It really is a great house for us right now; however, we always feel like everything is cluttered.  If you know either of us, we are anti-clutter and actually very organized and neat people.  We tend to neglect our home though.  This past weekend we got a wild hair and decided to do some major re-organization in the kitchen/dining area.

We bought two shelves for the pantry door.  We wanted to free up some space in the actual pantry so that some of the larger appliances/things that were left out on the counter could have a permanent home somewhere other than the counter.

Next to the sink we had some office type things on the counter.  I told Andy that we should put a little shelf above the trash can, like what you do in the entryway to a home.  Plus, it gave us a place to put our modem which has been sitting on a step stool next to the trash can.  It turned out perfectly!  We cleared off TONS of counter space which makes me very excited!

  1. I love home organization stuff! I have a ton of ideas of how we can add on little things in our new house to keep things neat and tidy, mostly by way of extra storage.

Our apartment is only 1,100 sq. feet (which feels tiny coming from a home that was 2,400 sq. feet), and I feel like things are so MESSY at the apartment right now. However, it's probably partly due to things being crazy with school right now. Once this semester is over, I hope I can put away some of my school stuff that's constantly littering our kitchen/dining/office/living area for a few months.
